This is not fly fishing in the romantically poetic sense. It's not a serene atmosphere. This is the town pool in Pulaski, NY. Home to some of the most intense close-quarters fishing you'll ever see. If there were ever a time when fishing could be perceived as a form of hand to hand combat it would be here in the trenches, in the gauntlet. This is where tens of thousands of king salmon and coho salmon will pass in just a matter of weeks as they make their way to their ultimate demise. To many this is unfathomable, but to those who have been here and done it, there's nothing like it! It's a community, a fight, a hook in the face, a stranger with a net, a friend with a beer. It's the run.
